Japanese Government Scholarship Program for Teacher Training and Japanese Studies 2020 - Study in Japan! 2020 Japanese Government Scholarship Program for Teacher Training and Japanese Studies now open for applications.
We are excited to announce that the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship for the following 2 categories are now open for application; Japanese Studies and Teacher-Training.
- Japanese Studies (1 year non degree course from October 2020)
- Teacher Training (1½ year no n degree course from October 2020)
During the term of scholarship, monthly allowances of approxi mately 117,000 yen willbe given to each Japanese Studies grantee, and 143,000 yen to Teacher Training grantee (amount is subject to change). Fees for entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at universities will be exempted. A roun d trip airplane ticket is also provided.

CATEGORY: TEACHER TRAINING
This course is an intensive year-long program that aims to develop the participants’ capacities in the following areas: educational administration (i.e. finance and management), educational methods (i.e. curriculum, learning system theory, and assessments), specialized subject research (physics, chemistry, math, etc.), and practice (specifically, in primary and secondary schools).
Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicants must be under 35 years of age as of 1 st April 2020 (born on or after 2nd April 1985)
2. At least (5) five years of teaching experience in primary or secondary schools as of October 1, 2020
3. Currently employed as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school
4. Applicants must have good command of English language and are willing to learn Japanese language.
5. Interested in and willing to learn about Japanese culture

CATEGORY: JAPANESE STUDIES
This is a one-year advanced Japanese language and cultural exchange program specifically tailored for undergraduate students. At the end of the course, participants are expected to have deepened their knowledge and understanding of Nihongo and Japanese culture.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicants must be between 18 and 29 years of age as of 1 st April 2020 (born between 2 nd April 1990 and 1 st April 2002
2. Currently enrolled enrolled in non Japanese universities as an undergraduate student and majoring in fields related to Japanese language and/or Japanese culture.
3. Applicants must have good command of Japanese Language.
