Fujitsu Scholarship 2020 - Based on Fujitsu's corporate vision and as a member of the Asia-Pacific region, Fujitsu established the Fujitsu Scholarship program as one of our social contribution efforts in 1985 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Fujitsu's foundation.
The objective of this program is to contribute to creating a prosperous future in the Asia-Pacific region through humanresource development by providing future global leaders with the opportunity to study.
Of the many who apply each year, the successful applicants have, in addition to English language skills, good academic records and work experience, the intention to contribute to the advancement of their societies.
After completion of the program, the scholarship recipients are expected to broaden their minds further and serve and contribute to the betterment of their communities to shape a prosperous tomorrow.
FUJITSU SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT
The Fujitsu Scholarship benefits include tuition and fees for the Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge program.
Tuition and Fees for the Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge
Airfare:
Fujitsu Ltd. will provide a round-trip air ticket to Japan where the program starts and ends, as well as ticket to participate Hawaii, Thailand, and Singapore Modules of the program. The selection of the air carrier and travel agent, including itinerary, is at the discretion of Fujitsu Ltd.
Housing Arrangements:
JAIMS will assist in locating appropriate housing in Honolulu for participants. Fujitsu Ltd. will provide and pay for participant accommodations in Japan, Thailand, and Singapore.
Visa Arrangements:
When applicable, participant will be assisted in obtaining the M-1 Student visa to enter the U.S. and Japan entry visa for a short stay. The expense of obtaining the visas is the financial responsibility of the participant.
FUJITSU SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATION
To apply for the Fujitsu Scholarship, you must meet the following qualifications.
1. Motivation
A person who has a keen interest in social issues and a desire to resolve them
2. Education
A bachelor's degree or a degree equivalent to a four-year standard baccalaureate degree in any discipline from a regionally or nationally accredited institution
3. Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience (ten to fifteen years preferred) after receiving a degree specified in the above Education section at the time of application
4. Language
A minimum TOEFL score of 577/233/90 (paper/computer/Internet), TOEIC score of 750, or IELTS (Academic) overall band test result of 6.5 or higher from a test taken within the last five years at the time of application
Exemption:
The following applicants are exempt from submitting an English proficiency test score:
Applicants whose native language is English and who are from one of the following countries: the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, or Singapore.
Applicants who have received a bachelor's or advanced degree within the last five years from the time of application from an accredited or recognized college or university located in one of the following six countries: the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, or Singapore. To be qualified for this exemption, you must submit the transcript or graduate certificate for this degree. There are no exceptions.
5. Country
Applicants must be a resident of the State of Hawaii, U.S.A., or a citizen of one of the following: Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam.
Applicants who are residents of the State of Hawaii will be requested to prove Hawaii residency. For details, refer to Definition of Hawaii Residency.
FUJITSU SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS
The Fujitsu Scholarship is offered on the condition that the recipients agree and follow the statement below.
Scholarship Report
Upon completion of Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge program, all participants must submit two formal reports based on their learning during the program.
Absence During the Fujitsu Scholarship Period
1. Should an emergency occur that requires travel to the participant's home country, such travel shall be the participant's personal expense. For the period of absence, the stipend will be prorated and subtracted from the applicable amount(s) set forth in the stipend toward living expenses.
2. Prior notice of absences from class or any travel must be in writing and submitted to the General Manager of Fujitsu-JAIMS Foundation or his/her designee who will inform the Fujitsu Scholarship Program Office of Fujitsu.
Fujitsu Scholarship Termination
All selected scholars are required to participate in good faith, work diligently, and complete the Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge during the program period. Selected Fujitsu Scholars must understand and agree that any serious misconduct in this regard shall warrant immediate termination of the Fujitsu Scholarship without notice and at Fujitsu's sole discretion. The following are some examples of misconduct that could result in such termination:
1. Failure to complete, or absence from, Academic Program without prior written permission from Fujitsu or Fujitsu-JAIMS Foundation.
2. Non-compliance with the regulations, policies and other instructions of Fujitsu and/or Fujitsu-JAIMS Foundation.
3. Immoral, disorderly, indecent, violent, or illegal conduct, including without limitation, violation of visa status.
4. Falsification of, or misstatement in, any student or program application or other records and/or at any interview.
5. Failure to maintain good academic standing or unsatisfactory work performance.
If Fujitsu terminates the Fujitsu Scholarship pursuant to the above, the recipient shall return to his/her home country as promptly as possible. The recipient shall inform Fujitsu in advance, of the date of his/her return and the address, e-mail, and telephone in his/her home country after the return. The recipient agrees that, effective as of the termination date, Fujitsu shall have no obligation to pay or provide any assistance to the recipient whatsoever. Fujitsu may at its sole discretion provide the recipient with the appropriate air ticket for his/her return.
The recipient agrees that if the Fujitsu Scholarship is terminated pursuant to the above, the recipient shall, upon Fujitsu's request, immediately refund all the benefits and awards paid by Fujitsu and/or Fujitsu-JAIMS Foundation to recipient or on behalf of the recipient.
FUJITSU SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURE
To apply for the Fujitsu Scholarship, read the instructions as follow:
1. Fill in Online Application Form from official link below.
2. Prepare application documents: printed online application form, A photocopy of TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS (Academic) score report, and Official Academic Transcript or Graduate Certificate in English.
3. Submit application documents during application period.
4. Application Deadline: March 31, 2020. All required documents including online application form must be received by the application deadline.
