ABOUT JET PROGRAM
The JET Program was founded in 1987 to strengthen Japanese communities through a deep and mutual understanding of foreign language and cultural immersion. To do this, Japan offers employment for foreigners wishing to take part in this program. This is an excellent opportunity for Filipinos who can continue to teach English to Japanese students with Japan Exchange and Teaching - JET.
As of today, 154 JET participants from the Philippines have been sent to Japan by the Embassy of Japan located in the Philippines. They've all worked as Assistant Language Teachers with the exception of a Coordinator for International Relations, a post that was filled in 2019 as part of the JET Programme.
Once again, Japan is in need of English teachers and announced their specific need for Filipinos for the 2021 year. This is an excellent opportunity for employment if you have excellent English skills and some teaching experience. As an Assistant Language Teacher, your responsibilities include assisting in the English language classroom led by a Japanese teacher. The classrooms are in both private and public schools or at local boards of education.
